I'm Emmanuel ED Enenkel

This is me. I used to live in Vienna but recently moved to Germany. I've been teaching and translating English for more than a decade now. I mostly taught adults who needed to improve their English for work, but also widows who wanted to travel, CEOs who needed help with their pitch decks or pupils who prepared for their exams. 

My Story

I've never been a very good student in school. I struggled with English, Maths and even German. I always loved reading and writing. But grammar and spelling were never my strengths. So I wasn't your typical straight "A" student. Although I went to a grammar school, I failed my exams in English. Although I always loved reading and learning, I was never really good in school. After my stay abroad, I decided to study English and Psychology at the University of Vienna and I also started teaching it, focusing on the needs and interests of the students rather than the same old boring grammar exercises. The more I taught in schools, the more I realized that I don't want to teach there. Almost all adults I've taught have been learning the language in school but they nevertheless don't feel confident speaking English. The school system failed them - but with the right tools and techniques (and a little bit of help from psychology) those same people enjoyed learning English again. I know that I can help you too, because I know why I failed to learn English in school - and I know how I eventually did manage to master English.

Why I Do It

Learning should be fun and engaging.  While I did have some great teachers, many were not able to inspire most of their students. Despite my love for books and learning, I still found myself failing in school. I was a zero in English although I would always have my nose in a book wherever I go. Somehow, I did manage to graduate but I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life.

Once I was able to overcome my own false beliefs about myself and learning, I realized that our whole education system has its faults. We're not taught how to learn properly in school. So I made it my mission to help as many people as possible to improve their English by empowering them to learn by themselves.
